Mirzapur and Delhi Crime actor Rajesh Tailang’s mother, Madhuri Tailang, has passed away. The actor shared the news through a heartfelt post on social media.
Along with a photo of his mother, Rajesh wrote, “Jo iss duniya mein laai, aaj iss duniya se chali gayi. The last rites held today at 5 pm at Lodhi Road cremation ground in New Delhi.
Delhi Crime Actor Mother dies
Rajesh Tailang was born in Bikaner, Rajasthan, and grew up in a family connected to the arts. He is the brother of the late SudhirTailang, a famous political cartoonist and Padma Shri awardee whose sharp work left a mark on Indian journalism.
Growing up, Tailang developed an interest in cinema, partly due to his father’s love for classic films.
A career built on nuanced performances
Tailang started performing at a young age and spent years in theatre before moving to film and television. His on-screen journey began with the iconic TV show Shanti, which aired from 1994 to 1997.
The show was a turning point in his career and quickly led to his first film role in Govind Nihalani’sHazaar Chaurasi Ki Maa.
One of his most praised performances was in the Netflix series Delhi Crime, where he played Inspector Bhupendra Singh. The series won the International Emmy Award for Best Drama Series.
Besides Delhi Crime, Tailang has been involved in several notable projects during the streaming era. His roles in Mirzapur and Bandish Bandits further solidified his presence on digital platforms.
