Serious allegations pose against the veteran Telugu actor Mohan Babu after two decades of ‘Sooryavansham’ actor Soundarya’s death in plane crash. Police has filed complaint in Andhra Pradesh’s Khammam district, and alleged the death of the actor was not accidental, but murder linked to property linked to Mohan Babu.
Complainant Chittimallu accused Mohan Babu of pressuring Soundarya and her brother to sell 6 acres of land in a village in Shamshabad. But siblings refused to give in, and lead to major conflict between the two actors. After death, Mohan Babu taken possession of the land forcefully, he alleged.
What behind Soundarya’s death
Soundarya, a famous Kannada actor, plays the role of Radha in the 1999 Amitabh Bachchan-starrer ‘Sooryavansham.’ She and her brother died on 17 April 2004 in a plane crash. She was 31 at that time and pregnant as reported. Her body has not recovered from the crash site.
The Complainant has urged the state government to seize land and start a fresh investigation into Mohan Babu’s role in this alleged land grab.
Complainant request for protection
The Complainant marked his complaint to the Khammam Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) and District Officer and request police protection to protect him from threats to his life. In complaint over Soundarya’s death, he flagged a propertydispute between Mohan Babu and his younger son Manchu Manoj.
The Manchu family dispute escalated last year with enraged Mohan Babu attacking a journalist at his home. Mohan Babu’s elder son, Manchu Vishnu played down the dispute as a family quarrel that will resolve soon.
