Westeros is getting animated. According to a recent blog post by George R.R. Martin, the creator of “Game of Thrones,” he is collaborating with HBO on three animated projects set in the world of his A Song of Ice and Fire novels.

The Game of Thrones series

According to George R. R. As noble families battle for control of the Iron Throne of the Seven Kingdoms, the series takes place on Westeros and Essos, fictional continents created by Martin. House Stark, led by Lord Eddard “Ned” Stark (Sean Bean), becomes involved in schemes surrounding King Robert Baratheon (Mark Addy).

With 73 episodes, the series, based on Martin’s fantasy books, premiered on HBO in 2011 and ran for eight seasons.
“None of them have been greenlit yet, but we are close to taking the next step with a few,” Martin said.

In Hollywood, “nothing is certain,” he said. In the prequel to the “House of Dragon,” Corlys Velaryon, known as the Sea Snake, traverses Essos in the previously announced “Nine Voyages.”

Because half of the show takes place at sea, Martin said, and requires a different port every week, he supports the change.

We don’t yet know the details of the other two animated projects.

After “House of Dragon,” HBO confirmed its next spinoff earlier this year.

Entertainment Weekly reported that “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight” is set a century before the events of “Game of Thrones.”The second season of “House of Dragon” will premiere in the summer of 2024.

A Song of Ice and Fire’s final book, “The Winds of Winter,” has been in the works for over a decade and has yet to be released.
