On Wednesday, the Aam Aadmi Party named the MP Sanjiv Arora as their party candidate for the Ludhiana West assembly bypoll. It creates expectations for Arvind Kejriwal to enter Parliament. Sanjiv Arora is the Ludhiana-based industrialist, and he is member of Rajya Sabha since 2022. His name has been announce for bypoll as Ludhiana West seat went vacant after death of AAP MLA Gurpreet Bassi Gogi last month. The bypoll date has been announced.
Arvind Kejriwal to enter Parliament
Bharatiya Janata Party IT cell head Amit Malviya also focus on Sanjiv Arora’s candidature and questioned on AAP Move for clearing path for Kejriwal. Amit Malviya asked in a post, “Wouldn’t it be better if someone from Punjab represent state rather than Kejriwal.” BJP national spokesperson Jaiveer Shergill also questioned on AAP Move to field Arora for the Ludhiana West bypoll
He asked three questions on why this decision was made. The questions are, “ Kejriwal wants Govt accommodation in Delhi?, Kejriwal wants to enter Parliament?, Kejriwal want to get major power FOMO after losing elections?”
AAP dismisses BJP claim
AAP spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar dismiss all BJP’s claims for possible entry in Rajya Sabha. She told in the news that “Arvind Kejriwal is not going to Rajya Sabha.” She also said, “ The statement on Arvind Kejriwal to enter Parliament are wrong. Kejriwal is the national convenor of AAP Party. I agree that this demand is high, but he is not restricted to any one seat.”
Arora’s candidate announcement just come a day after Punjab’s Leader of Opposition and Congress leader Partap Singh Bajwa claim the Kejriwal’s entry into the Rajya Sabha may happen, she said. Bajwa said that Kejriwal was considering to enter initially through the seat of deceased AAP MLA Gurpreet Gogi but withdrew his concerns of backlash in Punjab.
