Mamata Banerjee challenge Recent election results in Supreme Court
Despite the BJP winning 207 seats compared to TMC’s 80, Banerjee has refused to resign. She calls her refusal a protest against a ‘stolen’ mandate. This dispute has led to strong reactions from the BJP and raised fears of a possible constitutional crisis in the state.
Banerjee is launching both a legal and political counterattack. She said that the Trinamool Congress will go to the Supreme Court to contest the West Bengal Assembly poll results, alleging manipulation by the BJP and the Election Commission.
Allegations of Voting Machine and Counting Issues
Abhishek Banerjee claimed that EVMs swapped that alter the original vote counts in various constituencies. He pointed out that the serial numbers of EVMs at the counting tables did not match the Form 17C records.
He noted that machines used for 12 hours showed unusually high battery levels of over 90%. He demanded the release of CCTV recordings from noon to 6 PM to ensure transparency. He alleged that multiple complaints filed during the counting, but no action taken.
