Opposition parties in Punjab, including the Congress and the Shiromani Akali Dal, on Friday made serious accusations against CM Mann. They claimed he appeared intoxicated during the Vidhan Sabha proceedings and called for an alcohol test.
Opposition claims CM Mann drunk in assembly
In a post on X, Khaira said, “CM @Bhagwant Mann was found drunk in the VidhanSabha today! We @INCIndia walked out of the house and demanded from the Speaker @Speaker Sandhwan that an alcohol test of CM @Bhagwant Mann be conducted. We even offered to take the test ourselves.”
Khaira added, “The conduct of @Aam Aadmi Party CM Bhagwant Mann has lowered the prestige of the Vidhan Sabha. We @INCPunjab MLAs urge @Arvind Kejriwal to take action against CM for being drunk in the assembly.”
Demand for dope test
Leader of the Opposition in the assembly, Partap Singh Bajwa, also criticized Mann for allegedly being drunk and called for an immediate dope test. He said, “What are we supposed to do when we come to the Assembly and the CM Mann drunk? What is the point of holding a session when the head of the state is completely sozzled? We demand that everyone’s test be conducted.”
The Shiromani Akali Dal echoed these accusations, calling it shameful and demanding a dope test for CM. The AamAadmi Party has not yet responded to these claims.
A post from the ShiromaniAkali Dal read, “The Shiromani Akali Dal strongly condemns the CM behavior. He should not have come after drinking today. The Shiromani Akali Dal demands that the CM undergo a dope test today in front of the entire Punjab so that Punjabis can know the truth.”
