Prateek Yadav, the younger son of the late Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav and half-brother of SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, died in Lucknow today, as per sources. He was 38 years old and married to BJP leader Aparna Yadav.
Prateek Yadav dies at 38
According to sources, Prateek was brought to Lucknow’s Civil Hospital around 6 am on Wednesday for treatment. Doctors declared him dead upon arrival. Hospital officials later reported that he showed no signs of life, with no pulse and fixed, dilated pupils. Sources noted that only members of his household staff accompanied him to the hospital.
Sources also mentioned that Prateek Yadav had been unwell for some time. A few weeks ago, he admitted to a private hospital in Lucknow, where Akhilesh Yadav visited him. After experiencing some improvement, he returned home.
Political Party express condolence to Akhilesh Yadav
The Samajwadi Party expressed condolences for his death in a post on X, stating, “The passing of Prateek Yadav is deeply saddening. May God grant peace to the departed soul.”
Despite being part of one of the country’s most notable political families, Prateek mainly stayed away from active politics. He studied at the University of Leeds in the UK and involved in real estate and fitness businesses.
Prateek Yadav also ran a gym called ‘The Fitness Planet’ in Lucknow and stayed active in the fitness industry. He involved in animal welfare through an organization named ‘Jeev Ashray,’ which focused on rescuing, treating, feeding, and caring for stray dogs.
