The clip shows 48-year-old Bindu Krishna arriving at the venue and greeting members of the media before walking to the party office entrance. Wearing a white and yellow saree, she first shakes hands with a party worker before approached by 71-year-old Cherian Philip.

Bindu Krishna seems to extend her hand for a handshake. However, Philip moves in to hug her instead. In the video, he puts one arm around her neck while trying to lower her outstretched hand. Krishna appears uncomfortable. She is seen resisting the hug and pushing him away. Even after stepping back, Congress leaderattempts to hug her again before she folds her hands and walks ahead.
The video also shows several journalists and party workers smiling during this interaction, a detail that has attracted criticism online. Social media users responded vigorously to the incident. Many accused Philip of ignoring clear signs of discomfort. Several users argued that personal boundaries should be respected as soon as unwillingness is expressed, regardless of political status or public setting.
