BJP legislature party leader Suvendu Adhikari took the oath as the CM of West Bengal today, marking the start of the first BJP government in the state.
Governor RN Ravi administered the oath of office and secrecy to Mr. Adhikari at a ceremony held at Brigade Parade Grounds in Kolkata.

Five Cabinet Ministers also sworn in alongside the Chief Minister. The Governor R. N. Ravi gave the oath of office and secrecy to the Ministers. The Cabinet Ministers include Dilip Ghosh, Agnimitra Paul, Ashok Kirtania, Nisith Pramanik, and Kshudiram Tudu.
Suvendu Adhikari sworn in as the new Chief Minister of West Bengal at the Brigade Parade Ground in Kolkata. He won from the Bhabanipur and Nandigram assembly constituencies.

The new Ministers-designate of the West Bengal government include BJP MLA Dilip Ghosh from Kharagpur Sadar, Agnimitra Paul from Asansol Dakshin, Ashok Kirtaniya from Bongaon Uttar, Khudiram Tudu from the Ranibandh seat, and Nisith Pramanik from Matha Bhanga assembly.
Today is Pochishe Boishak, an auspicious day that marks the birth anniversary of Kabiguru Rabindranath Tagore. This day chosen for the swearing-in ceremony of the new BJP government in West Bengal.
Prime Minister Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, CM from other NDA and BJP-ruled states, BJP president Nitin Nabin, and other Bharatiya Janata Party leaders attended the swearing-in ceremony.
