According to sources in the AIADMK, EPS is closely watching the changing political landscape. He expected to meet Governor Rajendra Arlekar to formally ask for an invitation to form the government if Vijay does not present the necessary numbers.
AIADMK MLAs started arriving at EPS’ home in Chennai after ordered to return from Puducherry and other places for a crucial strategy meeting with party leaders. This comes amid intense political activity following the divided outcome of the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.

Sources added that the Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) and Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) are likely to support EPS’ claim to form the government. The AIADMK also expected to connect with other parties in the state, including the DMK, seeking support based on issues or strategic alliances to block TVK from taking power.
AIADMK sources indicated that if Vijay not prove he has majority, EPS should be called. They encourage the governor to meet with EPS for verification. Furthermore, AMMK and PMK show willingness to support AIADMK, hoping for DMK’s backing for an alternative plan.
