Three Empty Ujjaini Express Train Coaches Derailed Near Rishikesh in Shunting Mishap

Three coaches of the Ujjaini Express derailed near the Khand Gaon area while the train moved to the railway yard, officials said. There were no passengers on board when the incident happened around 9:40 pm on Monday, near the Yog Nagri railway station. According to officials, the accident took place as the train was passing through the yard area.

The train runs between Lakshmibai Nagar in Indore and Yog Nagari Rishikesh. Railway sources said the locomotive collided with the buffer at the end of the shunting line, which caused increased pressure on the coaches. As a result, one coach thrown off the tracks, and another buckled in the middle. Three coaches of the train damaged in the incident, they said.
