Before their sold-out concerts in the city, the seven-member group—RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook—met President Sheinbaum at the presidential palace. They then stepped outside to wave at thousands of fans gathered in the Zócalo square.
Videos and photos from the event quickly spread on social media, showing fans waving lightsticks and holding banners to welcome the group. Reports indicated that BTS attracted nearly 50,000 people to the square within five hours of the announcement.
Talk with Mexican President during official visit
According to reports, BTS spent about 40 minutes with the Mexican President during the official visit. Sheinbaum praised the group for sending messages of “peace, friendship, and hope” through their music and global influence. BTS members also thanked their Mexican fans in Spanish and talked about returning to perform after years focused on solo projects and mandatory military service.
This visit is part of the group’s Arirang world tour, which celebrates BTS’ reunion following the end of military service for all seven members. The tour has generated strong interest across many countries.
