Three F-15E ‘Strike Eagle’ fighter jets shot down in separate friendly fire incidents by Kuwaiti air defenses, the USA Central Command said Monday evening. This command directs the US-Israel operations against Iran.
“All six aircrew, two per plane, ejected safely recovered, and are in stable condition. Kuwait has acknowledged this incident, and we appreciate the efforts of the Kuwaiti defense forces and their support in this ongoing operation,” CENTCOM said.
3 USA strike eagles shot down by Kuwaiti Defenses
At 11:03 p.m. ET on March 1, three U.S. F-15E Strike Eagles, supporting Operation Epic Fury, went down over Kuwait due to a friendly fire incident. Kuwait had earlier stated that several US military aircraft had crashed.
Visuals shared widely on social media showed one of the F-15s descending slowly with flames coming from its rear. Seconds later, the pilots ejected.
Strikes Trigger Regional Escalation
The USA-Israel missile strikes targeted regime and military installations in Iran. It led to a chaotic situation in West Asia, as Iran responded with a barrage of missiles and drone attacks on Tel Aviv and American military bases in the region. Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei killed on the first day.
Explosions echoed across major cities in the Gulf region as Tehran continued to retaliate at a surprising scale, as per military observers. Explosions also reported in Jerusalem, an AFP journalist noted. This occurred after the Israeli military said it had “identified missiles launched from Iran” and activated air raid sirens.
