YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader and previous chairman of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), Bhumana Karunakar Reddy, made allegations against Andhra Pradesh government, claiming that over 100 cows have died at the TTD goshala in previous 3 months because of overlook and mismanagement. TTD denied Allegations and Reddy said the deaths were the result of poor food and inadequate care. He referred to as for an instant inquiry to discover the data and hold the sanctity of the holy shrine of Tirumala.
TTD denied Allegations on YS Jagan Mohan Reddy
“The coalition authorities is more focused on making baseless accusations against our leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and trying to erase his contributions,” Reddy stated. “Meanwhile, they’ve allowed the goshala to fall into disrepair. The facility is currently being manage by a Divisional Forest Officer who has no qualifications in veterinary science. This is not anything short of negligence by the authorities and the TTD governing body it has appointed.”
Highlighting the assessment with the preceding YSRCP-led administration, Reddy stated, “During YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s tenure, the goshala thrived. We introduced over 550 indigenous cows from Gujarat, Rajasthan and Punjab. Back then, 1,700 litres of milk have been release every day from the goshala to Tirumala for rituals. Today, under this government, the number has fallen to less than 500 litres.”
What Reddy said on cows deaths
TTD denied Allegations and Reddy state the sacred status of cows in Hinduism, pointing out that legend holds Lord Venkateswara survived on cow’s milk. “Cow is respected as a holy animal, but notwithstanding the long talk from the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister about Sanatana Dharma, their government has grew to become a blind eye to the suffering of these animals,” he stated.
He also alleged that a pregnant cow was found dead on a railway track and that officers had remove its ears, which bore TTD identification tags. “This type of action raise extreme questions and must be investigated,” he said.
