Mark Zuckerberg has already started sassing Elon Musk in posts on Threads before he gets into a jiu-jitsu cage match with him.
Mark Zuckerberg has interacted with several Threads users since the app launched Wednesday some of whom have drawn comparisons between Meta and Elon musk Twitter its obvious rival.
An anonymous user named strikingbreakdowns said, “Threads is brilliant. Twitter is done. Elon will be KO by Zuck too.”.
This is only the beginning of the first round,” Mark Zuckerberg said.
iamsamyrlaine suggested Elon Musk throw in the towel…at least for Twitter lmao, in a veiled reference to Musk. Zuckerberg responded with an emoji of a “face with tears of joy.”.
His long-running rivalry with Musk has been fueled by Zuckerberg’s stoking the fire that’s fueled the turmoil at Twitter. Musk tweeted that Threads would eventually place the Earth “exclusively under Zuck’s thumb with no other options,” and the Meta founder accepted Musk’s challenge to fight.
Zuckerberg is taking the first shot by making Threads the “anti-Twitter” by hitting Musk where it hurts.
Zuckerberg said on Wednesday that Threads would become a “friendlier place.” He agreed with entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuk that Threads and its users should “focus on kindness.”
Zuckerberg responded, “We are definitely trying to make this a friendly place.”.
Though it remains to be seen whether Threads can overtake Twitter in the long run, Zuckerberg said on Wednesday that more than five million people signed up for the platform in its first four hours.
“Does anyone think this could become bigger than Twitter??” asked a user named mikedavismma.
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg replied, “It’ll take some time, but I think there should be an app for public conversations with over a billion users. Twitter has tried, but hasn’t succeeded,” he said.
It’s 1-0 for Zuckerberg. Your move, Elon.
