1) École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne

Located in Lausanne, Switzerland, near Lake Geneva. École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne better known as EPFL is one of the most prominent universities in the world known for the advancement of technology and infrastructure. 

The university offers its students over 250 laboratories where they can conduct their personal researches. Established in 1891 as Throop University, it was renamed as California Institute of Technology in 1920.
