Pharrell Williams’ American West-inspired styles steal the spotlight as Louis Vuitton kicks off Paris Fashion Week

Louis Vuitton Paris Fashion Week

On Tuesday night, Pharrell Williams opened Paris Fashion Week with Louis Vuitton spring menswear show, displaying elaborately embellished American West outfits.

With precious gems, hand-painted pieces, and expert embroidery, Louis Vuitton explores the roots of the American West for Fall/Winter Paris fashion week 2024.

As a brand with travel, exploration, and expansion at its core, Louis Vuitton takes on the American West with its latest menswear collection Paris fashion week, paying homage to the origins of workwear and craftsmanship techniques with its iconic savoir-faire.

In silver-tipped cowboy boots, denim chaps, wide brimmed cowboy hats, silky western shirts with pointy collars, and silver tipped cowboy boots, Native American drumming signaled the start of the show. On sequined jackets, Louis Vuitton logos glittered and turquoise studs decorated suits.

Among the handbags designed with Dakota and Lakota artists, and Timberland shoes, the show notes stated, “the Louis Vuitton dandy evolves through the American western tradition.”.

LVMH-owned label, the world’s biggest fashion brand, opened about 50 temporary stores worldwide to showcase the new merchandise. This was the designer’s third menswear show since taking over the creative direction for the line last year.

As part of a street party with performances by Williams and Jay-Z, Williams made his blockbuster debut last June on the Pont Neuf in Paris. In November, he took his second runway show to Hong Kong, featuring sailor suits and Hawaiian prints along the waterfront promenade overlooking the city’s skyline.

As shoppers have reined back on high-end purchases with the rising cost of living, luxury apparel demand has softened in recent months. LVMH’s annual financial results will be released on Jan. 25, providing details about the industry bellwether’s performance over the holiday season.
