Is it difficult to name just one country when somebody questions you your favorite? Multiple factors might go into selecting this top spot. The culture. The food. The people. Or that crazy, unforgettable adventure you have had. There is plenty of travel destination lists out there, but we’re interested in the king of said lists: 10 Best countries in the world.

1. Switzerland

The amazing peaks, heaps of lakes, and beautiful villages make for the most beautiful scenery in Switzerland. These sceneries are considered to be what makes Switzerland the perfect destination for vacationing and exploring new cultures. The high-peak Alps and cliffs make up 62% of the country’s territory. This mountainous Central European country ranks No. 1 among the 10 best countries in the World. Switzerland ranks high for its wealth, diversity, low unemployment, and its overall breathtaking landscape. 

Also, did you know that Swiss people consume the most chocolate per capita in the world? This puts the cherry on top of all the chocolate and adventure lovers. No wonder it is ranked first in the best countries in the World list.

2. Canada

We can’t underrate the second-largest country in the world! It is a friendly nation and is also full of national parks. The country covers 10 percent of the world’s forests and the world’s longest coastline. 

Canadians experience a high standard of living. It has a strong economy. Moreover, Canadians consider health care to be a fundamental right. This is why free healthcare is such an important part of what makes Canada awesome. 

 3. Japan

Japan commences the way when it comes to technology and education. It also has the third-largest economy in the world by holding the position of the biggest producer of cars, electronics, and steel. Aside from the massive accolades, Japan holds onto its traditional culture rooted in food, art, gardening, and sport. 

The Japanese have one of the highest life expectancies in the world, with locals living to be (on average) 85.3 years old. Japan is truly one of the best countries in the World.

4. Germany

Germany has one of the leading economies in the world. It is also a significant cultural hub. Many of the world’s firsts inventions and discoveries evolve from Germany. Germany has Daylight Savings Time, the electric elevator, and the teddy bear under its name. 

The country is also known for its political stability and economic prowess. Germany has the longest uninterrupted growth rate for half a century, with the highest levels of employment since reunification and surging tax receipts.

Australia is known for having some of the most fascinating (and scariest) wildlife in the world. It is also a relatively quiet, peaceful, and small country (its population is just 25 million for such a big landmass!). 

Australians are very progressive when it comes to environmental effects. Voters rank Australia No. 5 on the list of best countries in the world. This is because, Australia has the highest quality of life, attributing the country to being safe, economically stable, and having a well-developed health system. 

6. United Kingdom

The United Kingdom has been a part of history for as long as we can’t even remember. The country has plenty of contributions to literature, science, and technology throughout the years. It is a significant global influence. 

Visiting the U.K. comes with traditional landmarks, varying dialects, fish and chips, and stunning architecture. The country ranks high on the list for cultural influence mostly because of the Royal Family and its ancestral past. 

7. United States of America

The United States of America is a vast and populated country. It provides an endless list of exploring to do and see. Globally, the U.S. is the most powerful country. The United States of America is a North American nation. It has the world’s most dominant economic and military power. 

Also, its cultural imprint spans the world. It is led in large part by its popular culture expressed in music, movies, and television.

 8. Sweden

Sweden has a comparatively high quality of life, a strong foundation, and the best system of healthcare and education. Today, a large number of people think to migrate to Sweden. Sweden has been part of the list of best countries in the World.

Life is great in Sweden. The government spends money on municipal services, while college education and healthcare are free. Swedes have one of the highest life expectancies in the World. 

9. Netherlands

The Netherlands is one of the most densely populated nations in Europe. It is a country with a great economy, great childcare, great healthcare, an amazing education system, excellent English, and a life revolving around biking. It lets you explore the amazing canals wind. Many bridges connect the country. 

The Netherlands is also a great place to explore tulips blossom, visit ancient windmills and eat cheese. 

10. Norway

This Scandinavian country is known for its fjords, Vikings, and literary folklore. Norway has a lot of quirky fun facts. For instance, Norway has a law called “allemannsrett” which gives you the right to put up a tent anywhere you like in the country. Health care is more or less free for everybody in the country. So, it’s fair that Norway made it to the top 10 list of the best countries in the World.
