Tragedy Strikes Kyiv as Three Civilians are Killed in Missile Attack

A new nighttime missile attack on Kyiv has killed three people, including an 11-year-old girl.

Missiles attack and drones have been regularly fired at the Ukrainian capital Kyiv by Russia.

11 other people were reported injured in the latest missile attack in the eastern districts of Desnyanskyi and Dniprovskyi.-kyiv.

The girl’s mother, 34, and a 33-year-old woman were also killed.

Ukrainian officials had initially reported the deaths of two children, but that has since been revised.

There were 17 attacks on the Ukrainian capital during May, most of which took place at night, but at least one occurred during the day.

In images shared by military authorities, rescuers attended to people and damaged buildings.

A series of explosions took place in Kyiv early this morning, and rescuers were dealing with fallen debris and fires, Mayor Vitali Klitschko said on Telegram.

In the occupied part of Ukraine’s eastern Luhansk region, Russian-backed officials said five people had been killed and 19 injured by Ukrainian shelling on Wednesday.

In an attack on the town of Shebekino, the governor of Belgorod, which borders Ukraine, said at least two people had been injured.

Shebekino is tense again. Ukrainian troops shelled the city for an hour. Vyacheslav Gladkov posted on his Telegram account.

As part of its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Russia has used kamikaze drones and a range of cruise and ballistic missiles to attack Ukrainian targets in recent weeks.

The Ukrainian government has been planning a counter-offensive for months, and analysts believe that Moscow is trying to weaken and damage Ukraine’s air defences ahead of that offensive.
