Before the second ODI between India and Australia at the Adelaide Oval on Thursday, legendary wicketkeeper-batter Adam Gilchrist shared a selfie with former captain Rohit Sharma. This moment brought back memories of their time at the now-defunct Deccan Chargers in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The interaction quickly went viral, with fans celebrating the bond between the two players who once shared a dressing room over a decade ago.

Rohit and Gilchrist played together for the Deccan Chargers from 2008 to 2010. Under Gilchrist’s leadership, the Hyderabad-based team won the 2009 IPL title. The Australian later moved to Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) and played until his IPL retirement in 2013.
Meanwhile, Rohit joined the Mumbai Indians and led them to five IPL titles. Before the toss, the two were seen chatting and taking a selfie. The former Australian cricketer shared the selfie video on his Instagram story with the caption, “Go Chargers Go.”
About India-Australia ODI
As for the match, Australia captain Mitchell Marsh won the toss and chose to bowl first. The hosts made three changes to their lineup, bringing in Alex Carey, Adam Zampa, and Xavier Bartlett as they aimed to secure the ODI series after winning the first match in Perth.
On the other hand, India kept the same team, showing confidence in the XI that faced a seven-wicket loss in the opener in Perth. However, India’s innings started poorly. After surviving a few overs from Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc, India lost two quick wickets within the first eight overs. Captain Shubman Gill (9) and veteran Virat Kohli (0) both fell to pacer Xavier Bartlett, leaving India at 22/2 after eight overs. Rohit Sharma, who returned to the ODI setup after a seven-month break, tried to steady the innings alongside Shreyas Iyer.
