7 Fun and Unique Things to Do in Florida

Disney world Florida –unique things to do in Florida

Over 130 million people visited Florida last year. This state is no stranger to tourists because there’s so much to do.

You and your family can go swimming with the manatees. Nobody should leave without visiting the national park. You can also check out the coral reefs with a quick snorkeling trip or go kayaking.

Of course, if you’re not the adventurous type, there’s always the tried and true – Disney World.

These are only a few of the many fun and unique things to do in Florida. Check out this guide for a complete list of things to see and do.

1. Visit the Everglades National Park

The Everglades National Park has something for everyone in your vacation group. You can go hiking along the Anhinga Trail. It’s not a long trek by any means, but it has a lot to show visitors about the area.

During your hike, you’ll see countless alligators, turtles, and of course, the Anhinga water bird.

One of the most popular methods of exploring Florida is via an airboat tour. You’ll get on a huge flat-bottomed boat that has a propeller on the back.

Be sure to keep your hands inside the boat as you ride along. The alligators won’t miss out on the opportunity to take a munch.

One of the first groups of individuals to ever live in Florida was part of the Miccosukee tribe. You can learn all about their history and culture by visiting the museum located in the park.

2. Go Surfing

No matter if you’re a surfing beginner or you’ve been doing it all your life, you’ll find a place to catch a few waves. One of the best places for it is Jacksonville.

The trolley bus can take you around to any beach you want, though we recommend hitting up Hanna Park. The waves there can accommodate intermediate surfers while providing enough of a challenge for those who are more advanced at the sport.

If you’re a little nervous about picking up a board, but you still want to give surfing a try, consider taking a lesson.

3. Bioluminescence Kayaking Tours

One of the most beautiful things to see in Florida can be found on a kayaking tour. There’s almost nothing quite as breathtaking as the bioluminescent waters of the Indian River Lagoon.

At night, if you stick your paddle in the water, it will light up a brilliant blue-green color. The best part is that bioluminescence kayaking tours take place all hours of the night throughout the entire year.

You can see something a little different depending on when you decide to go. For example, during the summer, there are glowing plankton.

4. Do an Escape Room

Escape rooms continue to rise in popularity. If you’re unfamiliar with what they are, they are an immersive adventure game that takes place over the course of an hour.

The game master will lock your group in a room, and the only way to get out is by solving a series of puzzles. If you’re not able to complete the challenge before the time is up, you lose.

We say that you’re locked in, but you’re never trapped. If you need to leave for any reason, the game master can let you out.

Running around from area to area to search for clues burns a surprising number of calories. On top of being a great source of exercise, it also encourages people to work on their communication skills.

Many corporate companies use escape rooms as a bonding exercise for their employees. It increases their ability to collaborate with each other. You can visit thegreatescaperoom.com to learn more.

5. Go Snorkeling

There are a million and one places to go snorkeling in Florida. One of the most popular spots is the Key Largo.

It’s the only naturally occurring coral reef you can find in the continental US. There’s also a lot of unique marine wildlife to be seen.

Like with surfing, if you don’t know the first thing about snorkeling, there are classes you can take.

6. Swim With Manatees

Manatees are basically the mascot of Florida. They can be found all throughout the sunshine state.

They are adorable, and you could have the chance to swim with them. The best place to do so is the Crystal River. During the spring, countless manatees show up to make the most out of the warmer weather.

7. Disney World

Of course, no list of Florida tourist attractions would be complete without Disney World. The park is so large that it can be worth planning your entire trip around exploring it.

Out of the many theme parks located in Disney World, Magic Kingdom has the most attractions. There’s the Magic Kingdom Flag Retreat ceremony, the Utilidor Tunnels, and the scavenger hunt.

EPCOT is one of the most unique theme parks you can visit. It’s both exciting and educational. While walking through EPCOT, you can learn a lot about different cultures around the world.

If you don’t want to swim with manatees, you can hang out with dolphins in Discovery Cove instead.
