Elon Musk is one of the world’s most controversial figures. Many South Africans admire this self-made billionaire who challenges authority without fear. They say the world is better off because of his wild technological fantasies. Others see him as a desperate egomaniac with iron fists.

No matter what you think of Elon Musk, one thing is for sure: he is a strange man. Over the years, he has pulled some unusual stunts as owner of Tesla and SpaceX. It’s even odder that he has a social media presence. Therefore, here are ten of the weirdest Elon Musk moments to date, as he strives to become the richest man on earth. The list is sure to grow.

1. It Was That Time He Stole A Farting Unicorn: Weirdest Elon Musk Moments

Elon Musk may be one of the richest people on the planet, but he still has time to go after an argument over a farting unicorn. Musk was accused of copying Lisa Prank’s father’s artwork without permission in 2018. Tom Edwards is a Colorado potter who draws unicorns for his dad, according to her. Edwards’ mug shows a cartoon unicorn feeding an electric car its farts.

The mug was first mentioned by Elon Musk on Twitter in 2017.Tesla’s sketch pad software was illustrated with a similar image a few months later. The design was used for another Christmas card later that year. No penny was ever paid to Edwards.

Musk responded to the potter’s daughter on Twitter. A month later, the CEO told Prank he would “change it to something else if your Dad wants.” However, suing would be “kinda lame.” They eventually resolved their dispute. Edwards says the settlement has never been made public, but “everybody feels good about it.”

2. He Made A Motivational Dance Song Once: Weirdest Elon Musk Moments

A song titled Don’t Doubt Ur Vibe was uploaded to SoundCloud as Musk’s debut pop single in January 2020. In this CEO’s dance tune, trance music and motivational mantras blend together in an odd way. He repeats, “Don’t doubt your vibe because it’s true,” against a backdrop of rising synths. “Don’t doubt your vibe because it’s yours.”

However, the audio oddities do not end there. Once you listen past the end of Musk’s song, SoundCloud’s algorithm plays a song about erectile dysfunction. There is a connection between the entrepreneur’s electronica and a song by Almndjoy about trying to get things going.

This isn’t Musk’s first attempt at music. Harambe the gorilla was shot in his trap song released in 2019. After a child entered the ape’s enclosure at Cincinnati Zoo, its keepers killed it.

3. The Fight Over Tequila He Started

Few people participate in fights with alcohol alone, even if it has a habit of making people violent. Tequila remains a bitter pill for Elon Musk, who tweeted “We will fight Big Tequila!”.”

How can a billionaire start a fight with an alcoholic drink? Teslaquila is Musk’s own brand of tequila. April Fool’s Day was the inspiration for Teslaquila. When he tried to make the drink for real, the Tequila Regulatory Council intervened and asked him to change the name. Tequila’s definition is very strict. Tequila can only be made from blue agave growing in certain areas of Mexico.

However, Musk did manage to make his fictional drink a reality by changing the name to Tesla Tequila. Drinks in lightning bolt shapes cost $250 and come in a forty percent strength.

4. When He Tweeted About Coronavirus Conspiracy Theories

A question is raised about the Covid-19 tests by Elon Musk

In November 2020, Musk tweeted that he had taken four antigen tests in one day, a development that is fueling new coronavirus conspiracy theories. Activists opposing the lockdown are praising Musk for “being a threat.” A positive result came from two tests, while a negative result came from the other two.He wrote, “Something incredibly bogus is going on.”. Covid-19 was compared to the flu, and false positive tests were blamed for the high number of cases in the US.

Billionaire Musk apologized for calling the lockdown “fascist” that led to the Tesla lockdown. Musk had ordered Tesla staff to report to work at the height of the pandemic. Coronavirus will be eliminated by April 2020, he said. Musk was clearly wrong about that one.

5. His accusation against a diver being a paedophile

The British cave rescue diver Elon Musk calls ‘pedo’.

When Elon Musk called British diver Vernon Unsworth a pedophile after rescuing 13 people from a cave, he had just saved thirteen people. His rescue work in the Tham Luang caves of northern Thailand saved a young football team and their coach in summer 2018. The group had set out to explore Tham Luang, but they became trapped after heavy rains caused the caves to flood.

For the team’s rescue, Musk offered to provide a submarine. According to Unsworth, his undersea vehicle has “absolutely no chance of working.” That angered the billionaire. Elon Musk branded Unsworth a “pedo guy” shortly after the heroic rescue mission on Twitter. The allegations made by Musk are not supported by any evidence.

A suit for $190m in damages was filed against the South African by Unsworth. An Australian jury acquitted Musk of defamation in December.

6. He once claimed that monkeys can play video games using their minds

It is possible to play video games using the mind of a monkey. The dialogue sounds like a spoof of the Black Mirror show. However, Elon Musk claims to have developed a video game that can control primate emotions. He told interviewers that his firm Neuralink implanted a small chip into a monkey’s skull and then wired it into its head.

Neuralink is a brain implant technology. Elon Musk founded the company to create a network chip for the human brain. He claims the device will help people unite themselves with artificial intelligence.

7. That Time He Gave His Baby A Ludicrous Name

8. The Time He Claimed To Have Created A Bionic Pig

We have already listened to Elon Musk’s bionic gamer monkey. But Neuralink professes to be modifying more than just monkey brains. In August 2020, Musk revealed Gertrude – a pig that he says has a working processor chip in its brain.
In an online demonstration, Gertrude provoked some straw with her snout, causing a graph of her mental activity to light up.

9. That Time He Got Into A Surreal Rivalry Battle With Azealia Banks: Weirdest Elon Musk Moments

Celebrity disputes are weird enough at the best of times. But when an artist camps in an entrepreneur’s house directing to record a song with their partner, something really strange has happened.
In 2018, Elon Musk and Grimes found themselves barred in an absurd dispute with New York rapper Azealia Banks. It all started when Banks was deemed to collaborate with Grimes, Musk’s partner, for her second album. She flew to LA to visit the couple’s house while she and Grimes made their track together.

10. That Time He Possibly Committed Security Fraud For A Laugh: Weirdest Elon Musk Moments

Elon Musk says the ‘420’ tweet was ‘worth it’s despite $20M fine.
You know a joke has gone too distant when the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) takes you to court over it.
