The vaccination campaign is successfully going on in rural areas as well, even people are self-aware about taking the vaccine on time. More than 55 million Covid-19 vaccine doses have been provided in India.

World’s largest vaccination campaign

The world’s largest inoculation drive is going on in India.

India’s coronavirus cases are again increasing. The reason may be test delays and lack of security measures.

There are about 59,118 new cases reported in India within 24 hours. This is the highest number of cases in 24 hours.

Indian Immunization Campaign

The Indian vaccination campaign has been started on January 16, 2021.
And first, this vaccination has been introduced — with health care workers and frontline staff, sanitization workers provide the first vaccination.

From 1 March onwards, eligibility for vaccination is expanded to those who is equal and above to the ages of 60 and in between ages of 45 to 59 years, but there is another dose to be vaccinated.

The government has subsequently announced from April 1 that the Covid-19 vaccine will be available to anyone over 45 years of age.

Originally, the Indian government has given green light to two vaccines – Covishield and covaxin and other vaccines are still on trial.

With the increase in cases, the demand for covid-19 vaccine will automatically increase. The Indian country will need more vaccines.

India has exported more than 60 million vaccine doses to 76 countries with the help of AstraZeneca company. But, India has temporary hold to export the AstraZeneca vaccine due to the number cases are increasing again in India.

India made this decision to vaccinate the Indian people first, later it will be supplied to other countries.

How many people in India are vaccinated?

India runs world’s largest vaccination campaign, with the help of this more than 55 million people are being vaccinated till now.

Approximately 2.3 million doses are given in 24 hours.

About 40 million have received a single dose, with over 8 million receiving two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.

India is running the largest vaccination program in the world and vaccines are given to millions of people, newborns, pregnant women for various diseases.

What is the expert saying about Covid-19 vaccine?

Experts believe that India is ready for the challenge. But the problem is in rural areas and poor areas.

Many poor people do not know how to get a free covid-19 vaccine due to lack of awareness. Even poor people have little knowledge about the registration and use of the vaccine.

And even some people do not have their own phones and no access to the Internet.
The government aims to use 500 million doses to cover 250 million people by the end of the year.

About 56 million people have registered for the covid-19 vaccine through the government app. Even more women are vaccinated than men.

Is there any need to pay for the Covid-19 vaccine?

Vaccination is free for all, there is no need to pay for it to anyone. The clinics of state-run government hospitals are providing free vaccines. But it is free only at government hospitals and clinics.

Those who do not want to go to government hospitals can book their vaccinations in private hospitals, but they will have to pay Rs. 250 for the dose.

The government spent $5 billion on free vaccines in government hospitals and clinics.

Even the central government is providing funds for free vaccines to the state government.

Does the covid-19 vaccine have any negative effects?

Well not for everyone, but for some people the vaccines come with very few side effects. Minor adverse effects are noted and reported, such as – anxiety, vertigo, dizziness, fever, body pain, etc.

But all patients recover without any problem which has effect for only 2 days. There is a surveillance program of about 412 people with serious adverse events, including 79 deaths by 13 March after receiving the vaccination.

Death is basically for a person with heart problems, high blood pressure, diabetes patients.

The vaccination campaign is going on in India at a large scale. To protect yourself from viruses there is a need of vaccination, wait for your turn and register yourself to get vaccinated.
